In early 2010, we were asked to design a studio for a graphic design company in Chennai with a limited budget. We imagined the building to have a stark exterior appearance, gashed at the corners for controlled daylight and views. The outer envelope was articulated to create deep overhangs and detached from the floor plates at specific points to trap hot air and minimize heat gains.
